How to use Sezzle Spend on Amazon: Sezzle's own steps, read
As read, Sezzle's Amazon page never names Spend. Its help article says where the toggle sits, which instalment goes first and which orders skip it.
To use Sezzle Spend on Amazon, open the Sezzle app, search for Amazon, tap Pay with Sezzle and enter your purchase amount; during that purchase request flow, toggle on your available Spend, then create the single-use Virtual Card and enter it at Amazon’s checkout. Sezzle applies the Spend from the final instalment backwards.
This is an evergreen how-to. On 18 October 2026 this desk read two Sezzle pages that the top results this desk saw for the query did not combine: the Amazon landing page, which gives the five checkout steps and, in the text read, never mentions Spend; and the help article What is Sezzle Spend?, dated on the page 17 June 2026, which says how Spend reaches a Virtual Card order. Both pages may change.
How to use Sezzle Spend on Amazon, step by step
| Step | Sezzle’s Amazon page says | The Spend help article adds | Only users report |
|---|---|---|---|
| Before you start | Download the Sezzle app | Check the app for the Spend amount and where it can be used | A subscription was needed (one Reddit user) |
| Find the merchant | Search for and click Amazon | Brand-locked Spend shows as “Spend at BrandA” | |
| Start the request | Click Pay with Sezzle | Virtual Card brands show a toggle for Spend in the purchase request flow | |
| Set the amount | Enter your purchase amount; create a single-use Virtual Card | Spend cuts the final instalment first, then earlier ones | Spend came off the last payments |
| Pay at Amazon | Enter the card at checkout; four payments over six weeks | Pay-in-Full card orders apply Spend automatically |
Where does the Spend toggle sit?
In the app, not at Amazon. The help article says that with a brand where the Virtual Card is the payment method, “you’ll see the option to toggle on your available Sezzle Spend during the purchase request flow”. Amazon’s checkout is where the card goes in, not where Spend is chosen. Sezzle then reduces your plan’s total, starting with the final instalment; if the Spend is larger than that instalment, the rest applies to earlier payments “until it is fully used”. To apply it, Sezzle says to click “Complete order”; the changed payment plan then shows on the order in your Sezzle account.
The pages read do not say what happens when a Spend balance is larger than the whole order, a question a commenter asked on the Reddit thread without an answer as this desk saw it. Check the plan shown in the app before you complete the order.
Which Sezzle Spend works at Amazon?
Sezzle splits Spend in two: amounts labelled for a specific brand redeem only at that brand, while “Spend Anywhere” can be used at any merchant that offers Sezzle as a payment method. Sezzle’s instruction is to check the app “to confirm the amount and where it can be used”. Promotional Spend may take up to 48 hours to appear, expiry dates vary by how it was issued, and Spend “is not available to be used on long-term lending orders”.
To see what you hold before you start, open the Earn tab and tap the Sezzle Spend icon, or tap your initial and choose Sezzle Spend under Benefits. Each amount’s expiry date sits under the Account tab, in Benefits.
Do you need a subscription to use Sezzle Spend on Amazon?
A user’s walkthrough on Reddit’s r/Sezzle reports that a subscription was required in their case. In the text this desk could open, none of the Sezzle pages it read states that for the single-use Amazon card. What the Subscription Terms do say is that Sezzle Anywhere subscribers “earn Sezzle Spend for Pay-in-Full purchases” and can use a Multi-Use Card where Visa is accepted. Our Premium vs Anywhere comparison sets out what each tier adds.
Is it really interest-free?
The banner says “4 interest-free installments”. The page’s own footnote prices a $300 Pay in 4 at four $75 payments plus a $7.49 Service Fee (finance charge) charged at origination: $307.49 in total, a 45.0% APR. Sezzle says the fee ranges from $0 to $7.49 by purchase price and product, with actual fees shown at checkout. Spend reduces the instalments; the footnote does not say it reduces the fee.
An open card request also counts against your limit, as our spending power post explains. For returns, see how Sezzle refunds work.
Frequently asked questions
How do I place an order at Amazon using Sezzle? Through a single-use Virtual Card, per Sezzle’s Amazon page: download the app, search for and click Amazon, click Pay with Sezzle, enter your purchase amount and create the card, then enter it at Amazon’s checkout. Sezzle says the purchase is then split into four payments over six weeks, and the card is issued by WebBank, Member FDIC.
What is Sezzle Spend? A reward balance. Sezzle’s help article calls it a way to reward loyal customers, awarded most often on Pay-in-Full purchases or through promotions. It sits in the app under the Earn tab, and Sezzle Anywhere subscribers earn it on Pay-in-Full purchases under the Subscription Terms. Expiry dates vary by how each amount was issued.
Can you use Sezzle on Amazon? Sezzle publishes a page that says so, with five steps built on a single-use Virtual Card rather than a Sezzle button at Amazon’s checkout. The plan is a loan, not cash: Sezzle’s own footnote says a Service Fee of $0 to $7.49 applies depending on purchase price and product, with actual fees shown at checkout.
Not financial advice. Spend is a discount on a loan, not a way out of one: the Amazon order it shortens is still a Sezzle instalment plan, and a missed payment on it is still a missed payment. Read the agreement.
