Does Sezzle report to credit bureaus? Its pages, assessed

Only if you opt in to Sezzle Up. Sezzle's Terms and two help pages side by side: four bureaus, a 30-day late rule, a 60-day lag and a 90-day closure.

Does Sezzle report to credit bureaus? Its pages, assessed

Under its Terms, Sezzle does not report to credit bureaus unless you opt in to Sezzle Up, which needs a Social Security Number and a bank account as your payment method. Once enrolled, Sezzle reports monthly to Equifax, TransUnion, Experian and Innovis in the US, on-time and late payments both, and you cannot switch it off without closing the account.

Does Sezzle report to credit bureaus?

Which schedules are reported?

The Sezzle Up Terms, effective 4 September 2026, say Sezzle does not report credit unless the schedule is biweekly. The impact article, updated 5 May 2026, says Sezzle Up “and/or” a long-term financing order opts you in. Neither page says which governs a monthly loan; this desk will not guess.

Does Sezzle report late payments?

Once enrolled, yes. The impact article reviews accounts at month end: a payment failing on 10 January is not reported in January, but if unresolved at end of February it is reported then and every month after. Fees for that event: our missed-Sezzle-payment post.

Which credit bureaus? Wise says one, Sezzle says four

Wise’s undated review says Sezzle Up reports “to TransUnion only” and takes up to 90 days to show. Sezzle’s pages, read by this desk on 15 September 2026, name four US bureaus, and the build-credit article, updated 4 September 2026, puts the lag at up to 60 days.

Questions readers ask

Does Sezzle affect your credit score? Not unless you enrol in Sezzle Up: the Terms state Sezzle does not report to credit bureaus unless you join. Once enrolled, on-time and late payments are both reported monthly, and a payment 30 or more days overdue at month end goes on file.

Does Sezzle Up build credit? It can, in the narrow sense Sezzle’s page uses: on-time payments build a record of positive payment history, one factor bureaus weigh. The Terms add that Sezzle must report negative results too and cannot delete them.

Does Sezzle do a hard credit check? Sezzle’s own pages read this run do not say hard or soft; the Terms only say Sezzle may request credit reports for any permissible purpose. Wise’s review calls it a soft check, a third party’s description rather than Sezzle’s.

Pros and cons

Verdict

None of this is financial advice. A Sezzle plan is credit whatever the button says; with Sezzle Up on, a missed payment is a credit-file event as well as a fee. Read the agreement before you enrol.
